Heading to FT Sill, this weekend, couple of question's.

Accident - Bankruptcy - Criminal Law / DUI - Business - Consumer - Employment - Family - Immigration - Real Estate - Tax - Traffic - Wills   Please click a topic or scroll down for more.

What is the name of your state? IN

I have been calling "1-502-626-3711", as advised by the GI Hotline, which is "1-800-394-9544", checking for a packet, once a week. I finally have been told, that I have a packet, which would mean I have finally been dropped from rolls, after almost 90 day's of being AWOL from AIT at FT Gordon. I will call once more, during different hour's to make sure I was not being lied too.

1: What should I bring with me? All my gear that was issued to me? Will this save me some money?

2: What should I wear? ACU's/Civi's'? If ACU's, which top? Document's?

3: Im guessing Sunday, late evening is the best time to show up, to limit the amount of time I will spend there, please correct me if I am wrong.

4: Cut my Hair?

I know some of these question's are silly, but I just want things to go smoothly. I apreciate any reply's I recieve.

Troop, take all your Government issued things back
with you. Yes, get a GI haircut; and not real sure on
whither you should wear Civi's or your uniform.
And your questions are well founded and not silly.
Good luck, and glad you are going to do the right
thing. Oh, if you smoke, bring with you, and any
other necessary essentials such as toothpaste,
postage stamps., etc.

you should wait to go to sill on a tuesday, because you wont do anything til monday but in process, then ACAP and you see the 1sg on wed and get read your charges, thursday got JAG and ID, Friday you go home with your leave papers in hand, heres some advice do what they tell you when they tell you, they are *******s and they dont care about you or why you went awol in the first place, the PCF sucks, but do what i said here and you will be fine, oh and if you have any pending Article 15's that will make you stay at the PCF longer, dont bring any of your acus with you, because they will make you wear BDU's, bring your civiilan clothes and enough money to get home on like for a bus ticket because the army doesnt pay for it you do. i went through sill march 12 2007. so i know what goes on there!. Good Luck!

Im not going to get to leave this weekend as planned, just a number of things interfering right now, but I will definably be departing with 1-2 week's.

So you didn't bring your issue's belongings with you? Did you have to pay for the things you did not return. I have a couple bag's full of Military stuff that probably weighs close to 100lb. Mostly uniform's. Nothing I am not supposed to have. If I didn't have to bring that stuff with me, then it would save me a headache.Trust me, I will bring them if they are going to charge me for it, it would be worth the hassle.

Yes, bring all your gear issued to you. They will want it back. When you show up to CIF to turn in your gear and you don't have anything then they will give you a Statement of Charges. You will have to buy everything you don't hava minus 10% depreacation value or something.

Bring back gear??

I went through Sill in July of 05...NOBODY brought back any gear.
I'M NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD KEEP IT. I'm only pointing out that you don't HAVE to.

But those who do return with their gear will not have to repay for what
they were originally charged with.

I know this post is from May, but Shorty has this guy pegged.
This is not advice, and certainly not a good enough reason to bump a post from May. Many of us could care less if you think Shorty has this guy pegged.

Oh, and do not take your stuff. They do not collect it there.
