What is the name of your state? IA

Student in high school that has been frustrated by football coache's intimidating & bullying actions for three years & having had coach for required class (Economics) where several discussions took place between coach and student on pros and cons on marijuana use/legalizationand-the student took position it should be legalized in opposition to coache's position-goes to coache's sons website (MySpace) & tells him that he (student) got high before each football game. Intention was for son to repeat info to dad (coach), knowing this 'story' would upset the coach. About three weeks after that the students parent receives e-mail from coach expressing disapproval of student's blatant promotion of drug abuse, referencing pictures on student's webpage of him sitting in front of a 'bong'. Coach then states that after advising other coaches/teachers at the school about the student's drug abuse there was disappointment in student & do not want student representing school by wearing uniforms (student currently plays varsity soccer & baseball). The following day student is approached at school by several classmates & informed the coach has printed webpage pic of student and is displaying in class as example of drug abuser. Factually pic is of student in front of a hooka that parent purchased and has in home as decorative display item. Baseball teammates approach student same day & inform him the coach is approaching them as well as players on girls softball team and stating student is a drug abuser. Leadership at school knows nothing of this, athletic director not aware of this coaches actions until parent informs them. What recourse does student have since coach has negatively affected students current reputation at high school and has power to do the same with college coaches/faculty he is planning to attend and has threatened to? thanks. What is the name of your state?

That whole beginning section, which is a seriously long, run-on sentence is confusing. However, please clarify which person went to which person's myspace page, and what they found.

I apologize for the lack of clarity. The student and the son of the coach know each other and were communicating on MySpace. The student made up a story he knew would upset the coach, and told the son that he (the student) got high before each football game. The coach went to the students MySpace page and printed a picture from that page of student sitting in front of hooka, which coach later refers to as a bong in e-mail to parent. This is the picture coach is showing students in his class and referring to as an example of a drug abuser. Thanks.

So the student told the coaches son that he (student) smoked pot before each game? And now that same student...after directing the coach to the myspace page....is upset that the coach has told others that he (student) HAS been using drugs?

So, now it is the coach's fault for repeating EXACTLY what the student said, and somone now feels that the COACH should be sued or held accountable for repeating something that came directly from the horse's mouth? The student gets what he deserves.
