What is the name of your state? MO

Just in case someone ever decides to search before posting...

I called CSE on Thursday, to see if Asshat or Stupidhead had paid child support yet. When it told me the disbursements (MO has a recording that tells you the amount and date of the last three payments received and disbursed) it said "A payment of $136 was disbursed on June 11, 2007."

Confused about how a payment could have been disbursed on a day that hadn't happened yet, and in an amount that there was no corresponding payment to, I called on Friday and spoke to a real person.

Here's the deal, and the point of this thread...

The woman I spoke with explained that the odd amount is his state tax refund which they'd actually received notification from the MO Dept of Revenue that they were getting back in April. However, they hold the refund for 6 weeks before disbursing it and so they never put it into their system as a payment until just before disbursement so that people aren't calling them and asking about it on a daily basis. So, it'll post as a payment on Monday and they'll disburse it on Monday.

She told me to call back on June 22 and they'd let me know when I'd get his federal refund and how much that would be, that they only hear from the IRS once a month.

SO... when you're wondering why you haven't received a tax refund (I actually wasn't because I didn't think he'd file taxes since he didn't the whole time I knew him), realize that it takes AGES to get and CSE doesn't have access to 'real-time' information. If someone waits until April 15 to file their taxes, it's likely to take til July for you to actually see the money.

I'm from Missouri and I appreciate the information. So, thank you.
Pleasant. Befitting a newbie.

It's ironic that some people on here are so bitter, yet they frequent sites like this to relieve any frustrations that are stemming in their own lives simply because in person - they'd never have the proverbial kahuna's to be so blunt nor take a look in their own backyards enough. I RECENTLY (like 10 minutes ago - ouch!) let one of the bitter ones get to me by their unfounded judgements and assumptions. I've learned my lesson on ignoring the ignorant as they intend on you reacting to their statements. Oy vey. To each their own.
Unnecessary.
