What is the name of your state? South Carolina

Ok, since the amount in question is only 2.85, it is not the money. I paid off my Amoco card and asked for it to be shut off. They did so. They then sent me a bill for 4.50 stating that it was leftover finance charges. Ok, I paid it. Today, a bill came again for 2.85. I called and asked why they are still sending me bills. She told me that I was responsible for more finance charges and that those charges will accrue more charges and they do report to the credit agencies. That was a BIG ONE for her to tell me. How long does this have to go on for? What is to stop them from billing me again and again with the threat of going to collection agencies and my credit report?

Did you pay the $4.50 late? Is there a minimum finance charge?

no, I did nto pay it late. I told them that I would pay this last time but if they billed me again, I would not pay it. When does this end?

Send a check for $10. Then, wait a month or two and give them a call to demand a refund for any balance.
