What is the name of your state? vt. I realize my thread of "stepparent overstepping boundaries" became a venting forum for this one stepparents pride, but why was the thread closed?? I really would like to know if I petition the courts on my own for shared parental responsibilities if that is possible in my state. From what I am reading it seems as though the courts do not allow this unless both parents agree to it. The statutes are so confusing when its one parent with full legal custody. I don't want to uproot my son from his school or his home. I love him too much to do this to him. But, I want to enforce my time with him and have say in his educational needs...especially since I was excluded intentionally due to his stepmom signing as guardian/mom and my ex excluding me from my sons special needs/IEP as a team member.

Admin probably thought that thread had run its self out....if you want to reopen you can, and add your question on to there. If you do , remember to close or delete this one.

Also, you can report the posts that got off topic/turned into rants and ask Mary to delete them from your thread so it doesn't continue devolving.
