What is the name of your state? Illinois

My last thread closed but I have another question along the same lines as before. About the pledge of allegiance again. I have been told that loco parentis allows schools to make the decision to require it or not. Even though in Illinois only the actually recitation is required (not student recitation, or even particion), loco parentis allows schools to take the place of a parent and make rules like this which seem to contradict state law. Does loco parentis really stretch this far? I was told at the last thread that "ultimately" schools do not have the authority to require participation of the pledge of allegiance, but how does loco parentis play into this?

Sure it does. If you hate the Pledge so very much, try home-school. Or Muslim school. I'd bet they wouldn't make you/babyboy/whoever say the Pledge there. :p

The OP probably was hoping for a real, well-thought out responce with at least some basis in law. Your response is nothing more than knee-jerk hype/bashing about how you would force your ideals on everyone if you were a dictator.

Interesting, I found SP's response to be well thought out and informative!

My house is a dictatorship. It works very well.

Mine too! they may each have a vote, but each of my votes is equal to 100 of theirs! man did they hate that! Maybe I was a loco parent? NOT!! Just one who expected to have respectful, responsible children, who turned into respectful, responsible adults!
