Ok, on the 3rd of July I was sent home from AIT on Emergency leave (My mother was very ill). As a result of her illness things back at home went way down hill financially. So I never returned (Or had money for a plane ticket until now). I have not contacted anyone, but I know Ft. Sill is the place to go (Correct?). Do I just show up there, or have to call someone first? And if so, does the day of the week matter? I can leave tomorrow (Sunday), or Monday if that makes any difference. Thank you very much.

Do you want to be discharged or do you want to stay in? I believe that if you want to be discharged and you go back before you are dropped from the rolls then you will be sent back to your previous unit and they will keep you in.

Considering my situation, even if I was able to go back to my unit, from what I read I would defiantly get a hardship discharge. I love the army, but it didn't work out back at home. Sh*t happens I guess. Is there any way to find out if I'm DFR? Thanks again for your replies.

Yea, call the Army and ask them; also, you can search the Army on the net,
and of course, do not forget your faithful Telephone book under Government listings!

The number that you call to see if you are dropped from the rolls is 502-626-3711.

The military will buy you a ticket and arrange everything for you to come back.

You just have to work it off when you get there.

Thank you for all the replies, you all have been very helpful. I leave tomorrow morning for Ft. Sill, I haven't called that 502 number yet, but I'm assuming after almost 4 months, I'm DFR. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again everyone.

I would recommend calling first! Don't assume you are DFR just because it has been 4 months. It took 5 months for my fiance to get DFR'd.
