What is the name of your state? Wi
Daughter age 14 lives with mother, father only has visiting rights
Now my daughter wants to work at a, bar as, a pin setter (her dad found her the job)
But, i told her "NO" that it was, no place for her, at that age
Can her dad file for a student work permit for her?

So you have Sole custody with full Legal? If yes, that no Dad can't sign for her work permit. Is it even LEGAL for a 14 year old to work in a bar in your state?:(

the more you fight the more he'll fight.

That's a good question...physical custody and legal custody are two totally different things. The fact that you have primary physical custody does not take away his rights as a father legally. If you guys share physical custody..you probably share legal custody. Check your ourt papers for that information. If you share legal custody then he can get her a work permit, he can get her a driver's permit and so on. Try to work with both your daughter and her father...Let her try it out...see how it goes and then decide what steps you want to take. If she only works during his time with her then there is probably nothing you can do. Maybe you can take it to court but who wants a bunch of strangers deciding how you raise your children...I say let him do it and see what happens and use family court as the LAST RESORT.. Good luck! I've been down that road before.

Hope this works posted and nothing geeeeez
In my papers it reads: That the sole legal custody and primary physical placement of the child be with "my name" and her father "his name" shall have temporary physical placement every other weekend (When he takes her)

I can't talk with him its has to be his way or not at all!!
He will see her, a few weekends then gone for months only to call
The bar is a bar has no name as a bowling alley (where they serve drinks also)
The downstairs is a bar( older crowds hang out) with a small minature bowling alley
upstairs is bar with younger crowds.
So he can not sign for a work permit?
Can i contact the main school office and inform them he can not legally sign for a work
permit for her?
And taking him to court ?all these years i let him see his daughter whenever, so i made sure she had contact with her father. But there is a limit isnt there???

No, he cannot sign a work permit. Yes, it would be a good idea to contact the school and inform them that he may attempt to do so, but does not have the right to do so.

Okay it sounds as if the dad has no rights to sign for that or anything else. it may be a good idea to not only call the school and make them aware of the situation but to also go to the school and give them a copy of the court order as he could come to the school and take her out without you even knowing it. Just may want to be on the safe side. So get a copy of that to the school asap. good luck to you. I hope everything works out. hmmmm... Why not you get the work permit and help her find a job a little more age appropriate. well again good luck.

BAD ADVICE. Dad has every right to go to the school and take his daughter from there. Unless there is a restraining order the school cannot stop dad from signing the child out. Schools are not courts and cannot enforce this civil order.

A 14 year old has no place being a pin setter in a bowling alley. If a teen is not allowed to operate as much as a blender, I doubt child labor law permits work as a pin setter, unless it is one of the old, old alleys with no mechanical pin setters.

I called the school work permit office (explaining the situation)
She can only be issued a work permit with my permission only!
And yes, it's an older bowling alley where they hire kids even at the age of 12
to set up the pins.
Also yearly we fill out a permission slip who may pick up the child from school.
If they are not, on the list they will not release the child to them.

You had better make sure the child's father is on that list.

Then they will find themselves in legal trouble for not allowing the PARENT of a child to pick up the child. And you can find yourself explaining to a court why dad is not important enough to pick up his child from school when there is not a restraining order stating otherwise and yet your neighbor, new bed buddy, or grandma is allowed.

Ok that sounds correct that i should add him to the pick-up list, thanks... better safe then sorry
But i have never added him to the emergency contact list, because he never has a working phone number for more then a few weeks. He has, never attempted to pick her up during school hours, he has after school, only to wait outside( he tells her ahead of time when, and that's very rarely) But i will add him just incase .... thanks again :)
