What is the name of your state? GA
When my mother died, her house and some land in South GA was passed down to me and my 2 siblings (brother, sister) as stipulated in her will.

When I was in the eighth grade (mid-thirties now), my mom put a piece of land in my name...actually, she had a lawyer draw up something that I signed saying that I 'bought' the property for $10 dollars. This land is next to the house that I inherited with my siblings. I have always paid the taxes on this land and it is solely in my name. This land is completely separate from the land mentioned in her will that we inherited.

Today, my sister said this land that is in my name is all of ours. She said that our mother wanted us to divide everything between the 3 of us. There was no mention of this property in her will. It has been in my name since the 80's. My sister is threatening to take this to court because she believes she is entitled to this land.

Do I need to worry about a judge possibly giving her and my brother ownership in this land?

if your name is the only one holding title to the propertym, then mom couldn;t give any of it away so, in that case, no need to worry unless sis wants to make some sort of claim as to fraudulent transfer or defective transfer of the property to you.

I doubt you have anything to worry about./

Have it all checked out

I am assuming you copies of the paperwork your Mom signed or know the lawyer that did this? Also research land records to ensure that it is in your name. If you are on all the paers, you should be ok..

ps...Is the land worth more than it will cost to fight your sister in court?

Thanks for all of your replies. I have been doing some research for the past few days on this situation.
Apparently, this land was never in my mom's name. My great uncle owned the land and also the house that we inherited. My mom bought his house (for 10 bucks) and I bought the land (for 10 bucks). I found all of the paperwork and have the lawyer's info if I need it.
I think I am safe! Can someone reassure me just so I can stop worrying?
