What is the name of your state? SC

I have done some real estate related work for a New York realty solutions company. I am owed over $10,000.00. These people are telling me that the owner is not releasing payments and that frankly it will be many months before they start to pay and I will be at the end of their list since I no longer do work for them. The reason I no longer do work for them is due to lack of payment. I am in contact with their office but these people have no answers and I am not allowed to speak with the owner or anyone in a managment role. I am about to get a lawyer to write a letter, but I would rather try make another serious attempt before I do so. What are my options. Can I put a lien on them?

**A: the lawyer route is a serious attempt if you asked me.

**A: no you have no lien rights. I hope you have a complete written contract with them.
