I work at a bar and it's been several weeks that the money from the cash register is always missing, we usually work with a partner so at the end of the night we have to compensate the shortage by giving the money to the manager out of out tips for the night. Usually it's not a big amount but it's driving me crazy because I can't be doing that constantly, cannot afford a job like this.
Is there a law that the bartenders are responsible for the cash register? Or how is it generally done?

You're repaying this money in cash? Not legal.
