I'll add one to CJane's list ....

What matters is what is in the COURT ORDER. What does the court order state about (and fill in the blanks?)

Very nice.

And on the same note.

It's NEVER a good idea to 'keep it out of the courts'.

We'll have to watch this one in Florida. Looks like a bill will be passing that if a parent has been CONVICTED of DV, they may possibly only get supervised visits.
In CA if you've been convicted of DV within the last 5 years, you cannot be CP (unless the other parent is MIA)

And the amount of Rum included is directly proportionate to your attitudes! :D
Which is why Friday is suck up day!

Here's a question...

How come so many people say "I have a beautiful daughter/son..." do they think we won't help them if they admit their child is ugly?

And for the record, your child is NOT your 'whole world', your 'life' or 'the only thing that matters' to you. If any of those things are ACTUALLY true, I recommend counseling and LOTS of time w/the other parent for the kid.

I've got one; If you think your child/ren are in danger call CPS

and another; If you think you might/might not be the father of an unborn child get a DNA test as soon as the child is born

Oh and; Just because you child is acting out dosent mean your ex-whatever is brainwashing/alienating them (this is even mor true if the child is 11 + yo)

Another one to add:
Get as much crazy, mind boggling detail you can in a parenting plan, dates/times/ exchange places/ FROR, holidays, vacations, months with 5 weeks etc. Vagueness leads to more battles with the x and legal $$ spent and relationships with the x can deterioate over time!

Don't have a kid with someone that already has 7 kids from 6 different mothers and then whine about why the child support you recieve is so much less than baby momma #1.

********

Don't ask if you can block the other parent from ever seeing the child based on drug abuse (especially when you were sharing the bong), nasty house keeping, friends you don't like, religious choices, family, etc. s/he has/is engaging in. You chose this person with whom to create a child. Now you get to raise this child with your stellar choice.

Pro Se is not for everybody. If you are having difficulty putting together a coherent sentence, adding punctuation, using proper grammar, or explaining yourself HERE, what makes you think that you can do it in front of a judge?

My excuse is that I'm an underachieving genius:rolleyes:...

Along with the step-parents being legal strangers, I'd add that grandparents are legal strangers.

(And it's a shame there's no way to sticky this to the top of the forum.....) :p

LOL @ this one!! So true. My vistation etc alone is approx 3-4 pages with explicit detail. My ex and his wife are the king and queen of quoting it too. I believe they have it memorized!!! Seriously!! We had everything addressed in that darn thing!

Mine is that I'm an overachieving dumbass. But I'm sure the disctinction is small. ;)
CJane? When my ex acts like an overachieving dumbass, I just call his sergeant at work. Straighten out his dumbass quick :) I haven't had to do that in quite some time. He must be learning. ha ha
