What is the name of your state? PA

Ok, long story short. I went to the steeler game vs ravens on mondays night. Got drunk and decided to drive home (I know it was dumb). I parked about 5 miles (1 mile away from the bar)away from my house on a dirt road/ semi path to a park because of the fact I was drunk. So, I fell asleep. Woke-up by a police officer pounding on my window, told him my story on why I was in this situation. He was cool about it ect. After he does his thing in his car, he comes back with a citation explaining my tags were suspended because of insurance lapse. Tag suspension went into affect 1 day ago (I had no clue). I was cited for no insurance. Car impounded, cop drove me home.

Question: Can I be cited for no insurance on a vehicle that was not in motion? Should I get an attorney? I just dont want to lose my licenses over this. I have 2 cars , one is obviously screwed because of my ignorance.

True..But when he cited me, he told me "You are being cited for being in the driver seat in a motor vehicle without insurance". Also not to mention the car battery was dead, left the dome light on . So I was sitting in a dead car with no insurance and not on a public highway. Guess I should of kept my mouth shut and just gave him a blank stare when he pounded on my window.

You're damn lucky you didn't kill yourself or someone else. Stop dissembling and keep track of when your insurance is due. You'll save yourself a lot of grief.
