Mostly because I hate it when people on here refuse to address anything until it's nearly too late...

My order says: "each parent shall have 2 uninterrupted weeks of parenting time during the summer months when school is not in session. CJane shall notify Stupidhead no later than May 1 of her desired 2 week period and Stupidhead shall notify CJane no later than May 15 of same."

So... by that language, does it seem that I am FORCED to use my 2 weeks together, or does it allow for 2 separate weeks that are each interrupted?

I could read it as "2" pause "uninterrupted weeks" weeks which give you 2, one-week periods

"2 uninterrupted weeks" which could force you to take them together.


hmmm ... (lots of ellipses usage here) I go for interpretation #1, which you COULD decide to use the two weeks together, but don't have to.

Any plans to force your children to share quarters, in locations with NO electricity or running water?

Heh. I like #1 better too... this year.

And yes, assuming I'm working for the same company... I want to send the kids to summer camp for a week as I did last year, and then my company is closed the first week in July for the employees to all take their vacations at the same time. Since the 4th is my holiday this year, I'd like to take that whole week and make the kids sleep ouside where they will probably get bruises and bug bites and not shower for days at a time.

That's why I'm addressing the idea NOW instead of later. I was going to just 'inform' him in January, but I don't want him to get the idea that 'prior to May 15' means any ol time he chooses. Right now, he always informs me between May 1 and May 15... don't want him deciding that January is ok for him too.

Stampgirl - there are no 'steps' on my side of the family except MY step-dad and step-mom and they're relatively normal. Besides, we're spending Thanksgiving and Christmas (which I get every year) w/my BF's family this year.

However, if you wanted to be really clever, you could try to get stupidhead to agree to the kids attending a week of camp just for their own benefit....not to come from either yours or his vacation time. If you agreed to pay for it (which it appears you were planning anyway) he might actually go for it.

I dunno... I talked to him about it last year, and he was adamantly against it taking up any of his time unless it was a church sponsored camp. It's a Campfire USA (formerly Campfire Girls) camp and that just wasn't good enough.

Anyway, I'm anticipating a no-go on this year as well.

I can't do ANYTHING until I get the camp schedule - last year they went to daycamp, this year they want to do overnights, so it'll be a different time anyway.

I'm going to check my order. I'm not 100% certain that it says "Two week period" it might just say "desired period of summer visitation" which I know changes the whole meaning. Maybe.
