What is the name of your state? Washington

Ok well I asked some questions awhile ago about making a claim towards my landlords liabilty insurance. My question now is " How long does a insurance company have to contact me with a settlement after I have sent in a list of items gone due to the fire? " And how do they do the depreciated value of things? And I guess for a little bit of a update on the whole situation, right now they are doing a investigation against the landlord for it may being neglegent on his part on how he installed the a.c unit in the wall venting it to a enclosed garage, he did not have permit or professional install this unit, I have heard it is against International residential code to install this unit where it was installed, but again I have no idea about any of this, but Im assuming they came to the conclusion that he was at fualt since they asked me for a detailed list of items lost, not sure thou.. Anywhoo thanks for your time, and I hope you all have a great holiday season!

It can be up to 30 days. They look at what you'd be able to sell that 7 YEAR OLD tv for today. If you have replacement cost, then you're better off - you'll eventually get the full replacement cost of that 7 year old TV, instead of the $30 they're going to give you now.

Hey South, North typing;)!

Read a couple posts below and see what you think. OP did not have renter's insurance and is claiming off her landlord's policy. I didn't think it worked that way but you are more familar with this stuff.

Hi, North!

You're right. I completely forgot about that. AND, this person was rude to me in the other thread, if I remember correctly. I'll let her sweat it out.

Thank you for the reply...

Yes it was me in earlier post, and I was rude.. I was just venting because you called me cheap, but anywhoo. Thought you would be past that, but alot of people are like that, its ok..
The way you are able to make a claim against the landlord on his liabilty is if he was negligent on his behalf and that is what caused the fire. And I did mention that is first post to this thread.
Man this is the only forum I have been to where there is people that choose to be rude and hatefull towards other people, I think I might have to see if maybe there is some one I could talk to about that, cause that probabl exsplains why this forum doesnt get much action.. And I dont think that the people that made this forum would be to happy about it. But then again why waste my time..
So I will say now "Sorry" for being rude a while back, just was pretty upset about the whole thing, and you saying I was cheap was very rude. So if you look back at the whole situation, you were rude first, and I reacted towards that, in the manner I did.. I am here asking for advice and would like some. If you do not want to help me, with some advice then don't bother replying to my post. I am asking questions and would like responses to the questions. Not someones opinion on what they "think" it is about or how someone is cheaper than anyone else. I lost everything my children and I own, and made a mistake and didn't have renter's insurance. I am regreting it now, but all people make mistakes and I found out the hard way. Thank you for your time..
