What is the name of your state? FL

I pressed charges against my ex boyfriend that was abuisve towards me for over a year. The final hearing that we have is coming up next week, this will tell if the RO will be lifted or not. During the time this was going on I was very depressed, couldnt sleep, had nightmares, nigth sweats and lost my job due to lack of sleep. Even thought I have a temp RO when I see him he "smirks" at me, laughs (somehow he thinks this is funny, mostly when he's with his new girlfriend) and it literally gives me the creeps!!..isnt he not supposed to do this? My question is can I sue him after all this for emotional stress? Or, should I just drop i

I just started to see someone a month ago. But can he really do that, smirk and mock me, as if this were a big joke?? I feel like now he's not abusing me with his hands but now with these looks like now I'm really going to get you, which seriously gives me nightmares. I'm not on here to whine but this guy really gives me the creeps and even the DA has agreed that he's creepy.

Is he violating the Order? How are you seeing him? Work? School? Randomly on the street?

He can not talk with you or contact you. But if you happen to run into him do not look at him and leave the situation.

No I see him on the street, we don't live far from one another so I sometimes see him but it's tough when I do. SO I guess the only thing I can do is wait till the hearing and hopefully this judge will keep this RO in place.

The best thing to do is when you do see him, turn the other way as soon as you spot him. He can't get a reaction out of you if you don't see him smirk. That's what the whole smirking thing is about, he thinks that it will upset you, and obviously it does, so just don't look at him. When he sees you calmly turn away he'll soon realize that he's not getting to you.

Please also consider that if you sue him, that will just prolong the amount of time he spends in your life.

I think Bay's suggestion about PTSD is excellent. Good luck to you.
