What is the name of your state? GA

Ok - here goes. My husband helped this guy. He was a painter and had no where to go. My husband said you could hang out in the basement if you help me paint my house. The basement has a separate entrance. Anyway. we are in the process of relocating to NC. My husband locked up and came to visit me. While he was gone this person kicked in our door and robbed our home. There were a lot of large items taken ie, TV, speakers, stereo, computer, fax, printer etc. The keys to my husbands truck were also there. They also stole the truck. The vehicle was apprehended and this person was arrested. Come to find out that he is a drug dealer, drug addict and a thief on probation. He did not have a license either. Anyway he told the police that my husband asked him to do this and was going to pay him once the insurance money was received. So now the police think that my husband has something to do with this. This is not the case. He even stated he would take a lie detector test. This police officer really has a hard on for my husband. He trying to convince me that he had something to do with it. I know that he did not. Come to find out that his son was involved and they sold it all for drugs and booze. His son made a statement of this. The police office says why would this other person say that my husband was involved if he was'nt. Gee because he wants a deal. No formal charges have been done yet. The officer said for my husband to say he filed a false police report and he will get 6 months probation. This police officer has now called the insurance company saying that he was involved. Gosh what happened to innocent to proven guility. Like I said the officer really has a hard on for him. Now our vehicle has 8K in damage and Allstate wont fix it until he is cleared. Not sure what to do. Those polygraphs dont always work anyway and dont hold up in court. Can anyone advise or give suggestions on what to do. Not sure to lawyer up or have a polygraph done up here in NC with someone who is non biased. Since I know for sure the would interrogate him to the point he would be not pass due them pissing him off, which is really easy right now. Thanks in advance for any opinions and thoughts.

Why a bum

I (husband replying) dont tithe in cash to God, so I help people. Unlike yourself you are judging us. He was down on his luck and my brother said he was a decent guy, I was just trying to help him out. My mistake. You dont know my background. This person took advantage of us and now we have a situation

Don't believe the officer about confessing and about filing a false report .

They can say anything they want to try and get a confession .

Consult a criminal lawyer .

I would think unless the law can prove involvement the ins. should pay up , but it may take a lawyer .
