'Ladies' Night' Lawsuits on the Rocks?

Anyone hear about this case? This lawyer is seeking a class action suit against clubs that give women discounts because it discriminates against men. I don't know how far he will get considering the judge is a female but, I do think he has a point.

Poor, poor Roy Den Hollander.

I certainly believe in gender equality and equal protection under the law, and can understand to an extent Hollander's concern about the price disparity when it comes to "Ladies Night" drink prices, however, I also believe that, when and until women start earning the same as men, dollar for dollar, he should, for heaven's sake, leave the private clubs and bars alone. He should concentrate on price disparity in the workplace first - then he will have a legitimate case on price disparity on drinks in a bar.

Its an equal trade off, men should not be bitching about this sort of issue , at least strait men shouldnt be. More woman come in , by more drinks get more drunk and the chances of a man geting laid go up at least by 30 to 45 percent

Not quite. They are letting all women in at discounted prices not only the single, straight, available women who are looking for a man.

Many of the women going are either taken or just looking for free drinks. So basically the men are footing the bill for the women to get in and for their discounted drinks without knowing it and then on top of that some of them are buying women free drinks to meet them.

And I say it again - I am sure that women would be more than happy to pay full price for drinks in a bar if they were paid the same as men in the workplace. However they are not. I believe to be fair to women right now, then, they should not only be getting discounts on drinks, but they should be allowed a discount on everything they purchase, to make up for the disparate incomes they receive in the workplace. If Hollander wants equality, that is where he should start making things equal.

I would agree with you but the average age of club goers are in their early twenties most whom don't have a college degree yet and who have not yet been affected by the workforce.
