What is the name of your state? South Carolina

I operate an online business and have been constantly harassed on a couple of forums for about a year now by a guy I don't even know and some other people who I believe to be his alts. He has even recently stated on one of the forums he posts on that he has mocked me purposely every chance he gets for the past year. He has posted my real name and address and any information he can find about me for all to see just to harass me. I suspect he is a friend of someone I no longer speak to and is getting revenge on his behalf, but it is still very unsettling. Finally, I did some research and found his real name and address by searching his domain name.

Is there some course of action I can take without having to go to court first? For instance can I file a cease and desist request/complaint/demand with his local courthouse and pay the local sheriff to have him served with it? I didn't say cease and desist "order" because I think those are issued by a judge.

I want to make it clear to this person that I am not going to allow him to drag my name through the mud without fighting back, I know who he is, and I want it to stop, now.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes, and when I do that my name and new address (because I moved) becomes public information to anyone requesting to see the file.
Been through THAT before LOL
How many people request to see your file?
Request that your address be redacted from any release of the report.

I don't know how many people will request to see it lol. I know I have a lot of harassing emails and who knows if they are from the same person or not. I can only suspect in that case. But I did not know I could request to have my address redacted from the release of the report. I'll call and ask about that asap. Thanks! :)
