Every month or so we get an automated call from "Credit Card Services" telling us they can lower our VISA rate.

We do not have a Visa card. We are on the Do Not Call list, both Texas and national. We have had all of our financial business with one entity for decades, so this is not a company with whom we have done business.

When I press "9" and get a representative, they hang up on me when I ask for their company name and phone number or if I ask they remove our number from their database. Caller ID shows "Unknown Name" and "Unknown Number".

Does anyone have information about this company so I can file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General?

If you find out, let me know. I wonder if "Account Services" is an alias?

It would be nice to make this scum pay.

Play it a little smarter.

Pretend to sign up.

Then say, "Oh hang on"

Pause

"oh sweetie, my biscuts are burning. What's y'alls number hon?"

Keep pressing. You'll get the info.

The first thing they ask when they answer the phone is for my Visa number.

"Hi, I'm an absolute stranger and I want you to give me your VISA number because I'm just so darn friendly...."

give fake visa number.

VISA numbers are 16 digits in groups of 4

the first 4 digits are the bank code. Use the first 4 from a card you already have, then make up the rest.

you have to play along a little if you want nail them...
