What is the name of your state? CP - Maryland, NCP - Florida

Hi, I have a question. The background is that I am the CP with a 4 yr old son. NCP has never seen our son. The NCP started before the holidays calling and emailing asking to see our son, but the NCP didn't want to go to court to make it legal. I also had concerns with his family and stability, that is why I said we would have to go to court. So far, the NCP has not filed anything and I doubt that he will.

Anyway, the NCP called our son over the weekend, it had been about 3 weeks since they had last talked. After my son got off the phone with him, the NCP told me that he didn't feel as if I was fostering a relationship between our son and the NCP. I asked how as I think I've been more than fair considering the background. The NCP stated that I am supposed to call the NCP regularly so that the NCP can speak to our son and that I am to give the NCP regular updates on our son.

There is only a child support order. No visitation or custody order. I am sole custodian.

I feel as if his claims are bogus. I don't mind the NCP calling and asking for an update, but he has been out of his life for four years. Even now he does not call our son regularly and still has not filed for visitation.

Is this really my responsibility at this point? I would like them to have a relationship, but isn't this something the NCP is supposed to do?

So confused.
