Hi,
my husband and I are new to Florida so we aren't sure what the Eviction Proceedures are. We paid our rent but it was late and we didn't have enough money to pay the fees too. so are apartment complex has served us with a three day notice and then told us that they were forwarding our lease to their corporate office for eviction. today, the property mgr. came by asking for my husband and told me that the apt is under eviction now and that we need to get out asap or he is gonna have the sheriff lock us out.... can he do that?... i know in texas where we were from before here my cousin was evicted for non paymnet at all of rent and they had to serve her with a three day notice, then they had to serve her with court papers, but they couldn't make her get out untill she actually went to court and the judge ruled on the case. I have 2 babies right now and don't have anywhere to go asap... i think they are trying to intimidate us so they don't have to go any further with the process, but i don't know. and i don't wanna have a sherriff knock at my door and tell us to get out. i have called lawyer upon lawyer, but because i am the tenant and not the landlord they will not even answer a question for me. Please help me.... thank you
