My wife met someone the other day who says that he practices common law. He says that when he gets pulled over for speeding etc, that he just puts a stamp on the ticket and writes “without prejudice” on it. He said he bought his big house and exotic car and pays almost nothing because he knows how to work the system through common law. He says very few people know about it.

I don’t believe a word of it but my wife is pushing me on this issue. Can anyone explain to me in layman terms what he is doing or talking about? The only word that comes to my mind is “scam”. Thanks in advance for your time.

I practice common law myself, and yes, it works. It got me my Porsche 911 GT2 for peanuts. Plus, not only can I blow off speeding tickets at will, common law allows me to cut in front of anyone, in any line, anywhere in the US (e.g. Disney World, Starbucks, etc.) -- except in Louisiana, as that state does not follow the common law and is based on the Napoleonic Code. By using common law, I once even kicked Jack Nicholson out of his own court side seat at a Laker's game.

It's some powerful @*&% and not for the faint of heart.
