What is the name of your state? OH

I have a rather oddish question and not even sure if it belongs in this particular category or not. I had an idea to sell my body fat on Ebay with a reserve price that encompasses the cost of extraction (i.e. the cost of Liposuction). I mentioned my idea to my husband and he said he thinks that there are laws against selling body parts on the open market. I know that women can sell their eggs (for a rather substantial amount of money) and people sell their blood plasma, so what my husband thinks can't be all inclusive. So, what I would like to know is if it is legal to sell my body fat and what particularly are the laws regarding selling body parts (such as fat, blood, etc.)?

Secondly:
eBay doesn't allow this. See http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/remains.html

Well, my idea didn't derive from a "sick sense of humor" but more from a musing about the rising cost of fuel, the fact that I'm eating chips that really aren't flattering to my hips, and an article I read regarding three people undergoing liposuction to create human biodiesel to fuel their boat for a "round the world trip" (http://blog.wired.com/cars/2007/12/around-the-worl.html). Their "harvest" only created a couple gallons of fuel. I figured that they will need to "refuel", my automobile needs to refuel, and I really like chips. It sounded like the makings of a prosperous business relationship. But I guess my idea doesn't fly (or boat...).

Thanks for the response.

eBay will probably end up pulling your 'item' for violation of the eBay Prohibited and Restricted items policy . . . Body Parts, etc

P.S. Ewwwwwwwww

Erin, I suggest you move north into Michigan and start a small liposuction-biodiesel company here.

Michigan is no longer the fattest state in the country (that honor now goes to Nevada - where, I believe, half of Michigan's population has moved :)) - but we still have a lot of hefty people here, and a lot of unemployed people here, and our Governor is looking to make Michigan the top state for alternative fuels.

Seems to me like it could be a win, win, win.

You're right. Mississippi is 2007's fattest state. Nevada had the most foreclosures. Got them confused.
