What is the name of your state? New Jersey

Back in November 07 I purchased a 2001 Cadillac Seville STS and bought an extended warranty for 2-years. Three weeks into my new car I started having issues with my dashboard, every icon on the dashboard would light up & my car would stall while sitting at a red light or idling. When I called my sales person & told him what happened he said bring it in & we can look at it...Okay. They hooked it up to their computer & it told them that I needed my Instrument Cluster Control replaced...Okay. This was right around Christmas & they said the part was on back order. Call after the holidays see if the part is in & we will fix it. January 08 I drop off the car & they give me a rental for the 1 1/2 days they had the car. Went back to get my car & saw on the service receipt that they never changed the Instrument Cluster Control, they cleaned out the Crank Shaft joints & replaced my battery. When I asked what happened with the instrument cluster control they said it wasn't what needed to be fixed. Now it is March 08 & I am STILL having the same problems with the car from November 07....The dealer now tells me it is a different "part" that needs to be replaced & they cannot fix it & I would have to take it to a Cadillac dealer....After speaking with my warranty company the part that needs to be replaced is not covered....Does this qualify under any type of Lemon Law?

Used cars to not qualify for lemon laws. Even if the car was new, this would not be covered by lemon laws.

I once owned a 1998 Cadillac Seville that had the same issues. I live in Massachusetts and probably like New Jersey any recourse only applies for the first 30 days (depending on mileage on the car). Had more problems with my car than Carter has liver pills and the warranty was a joke because I got it from the dealer not General Motors. It covered nearly nothing because I paid next to nothing for it! (I think it was something like $100 - the warranty I have for my Jeep was almost $2000, but pays 95% of what a new car warranty pays and is good for 50K miles)

I suggest you dump that nice Caddy asap - because, like mine, it may end up sitting in your driveway all pretty and nice but can't be driven and you're still paying the loan.

I feel for you... honestly! :(

Tell them if they don't fix it your calling a zone rep., or go to another GM dealer. You're not limited to a 'Caddy dealer' you know, you can go to any GM dealership.

What makes you think he bought it from a Caddy dealer?
