What is the name of your state? vt I need some help here. I want to help my mom and grandmother get the tax rebate check being sent out starting in May. My grandmother is 94 and gets a little over 600 a month for social security. My mom has about 1000 to claim for money for the year and her social security is about 16000 a year. What forms do I need to help them both out? Someone told me a 1040A is that right? Plus, my grandmother is 94 and only gets 600 a month, can she still get a rebate check too? Thanks Faith

Look at http://www.irs.gov/efile/lists/0,,id=179739,00.html for links to companies that will do free filing in the situations you describe.

I am a bit confused. I went into the site and it shows software I can purchase. I could not find a list of companies. If I get the paperwork myself and mail it in for them, what forms do I need? thanks faith

Or instead of software, you can simply fill out 1040As for the two of them and mail them in.

If there is no taxable income, you will need to file paper returns that have 'stimulus rebate' at the top.

As for the free file, you need to start at www.irs.gov and follow the links. There should also be places that offer help with filing these returns. Start with Senior Citizen sites, like Council for the Aging. They can lead you in the right direction.
