What is the name of your state? Oregon

I am currently a full time student. as a means 2 relieve stress, i gave these online dating sites a whirl WITHOUT the intention of soliciting/being solicited sex for money yet my "case" made towards women in my area drew in a few...

i verified that one of them was an "escort girl" aka hooker by discussing arrangements via my personal email (the email messages also confirm that had no intention of paying her for sex).

this could be a great bust, but how can discretely turn her in w/o notifying friends or family (since my personal email account would have to be analyzed in order to validate my innocence)?

The best advice you'll get is to not try to play cop, stop e-mailing her, walk away from it, and forget it.
Is this truly the new American way, to turn your back on it, ignore it, and forget it! I don't get this, when did doing the right thing become wrong to do??

Is that how you justify saying that, to say he's "playing cop"??? Isn't it odd that one of the nations hottest new trends is T-shirts and hats that read "Stop Snitch'n.' " Is this what we really want to teach our children? Do we truly turn our back on crime and ignore it, just walk away from it and forget it, then when the gangs shoot up your neighborhood you scream to the cops about how unsafe it is? When you do what you said above you're part of the problem too. Don't you realize that this new slogan "stop snitchin' ", now extends to rape, robbery, murder also?? I'm sorry but I don't buy this, my country is better than this, the human race should be better than this too!

Let's theorize a bit just for the fun of it. Let's say your brother-in-law happened across this girl on the net while your sister was out of town, quite a common occurrence anymore these days ya know. They meet and being lonely because his wife, your loving sister, is away and he's lonely. He pays her, they do their thing, then next week when your sister comes home of course her hubby is more than happy to see her. He gives her a homecoming gift he purchased for her while she was away, they have a nice supper and spend the night making love under the stars because they're so happy to see each other. But wait, all isn't as well as it seems, your brother-in-law has another gift for your sister, but this one isn't wrapped all pretty in fancy wrapping paper, he's just given your sister HIV thanks to this online hooker. You remember the one, yeah that very one you said to "turn your back on it, ignore it, and forget it!" Tell me, would you be screaming about it to the police then?

Just my 2 cents but that's how I see it anyway!

A few problems with your premise, Cajun....

Female to male transmission of the HIV virus is rare.

If brother had unprotected sex with a prostitute, wouldn't you think that that particular gene pool needed cleaning anyway?

Run to the cops, tell them you solicited someone online...but only so THEY could arrest HER.
Then, enjoy the consequences of your crime.

Oh for Pete's sake. Could you possibly be more dramatic?? This isn't about "hey, brah, don' be snitchin' dawg!" and it's certainly not about Truth, Justice, and the American Way.

So this kid shows up at the police station, print-outs in hand, ready to thwart the evil harlot's sinister plan to destroy all that is good and decent in the world. What do you think they're going to do? Scramble a couple of F-14s? I'll tell you what they're gonna do. They're gonna take the print out, thank him very much for the information, and then go back to filling out the report for the domestic call they just went on. With any luck, they'll finish the report before shift change.

OP is a kid playing around on a site where he shouldn't be playing. He has no business looking for dates on Craigslist. He needs to close the browser window and go back to playing WOW. Every city has a procedure in place by which they deal with things like this. The "playing cop" comment is simply an observation that the police don't need this kid's help.

"Gangs shoot up the neighborhood"? "Rape, robbery, and murder??? And then the whole brother-in-law thing.....?? LOL. Okay, whatever. You go, girl.

That's probably true, but I don't think discouraging people to do what they believe is the right thing when they see something illegal is the right path either. You can make all the flippant excuses you want in effort to make funny of someone having a different opinion than yours, but convincing people to ignore wrong doing by burying their head in the sand isn't the best thing for our country, or our world either! It only shows that people who think that way are part of the problem also because they would rather accept the crime than be embarrassed in front of their peers for standing up for what's right! Many people do that exact thing, so if you can live with yourself doing so then that's your call! I just believe our country was founded on better beliefs than that!

Obviously a theoretical scenario was too much for you to handle, sorry about that, next time I'll use simpler language so you won't have so much trouble. So what was this "You go, girl" statement, was it just a simple minded attempt to toss femininity at me in effort to belittle the rest of what I said??? You may be a Senior Member but you're not God, and it doesn't mean that you're right 100% of the time either. At least give me the courtesy of referring to me by my correct gender. Tossing out that, "You go, girl" statement was a very lame and immature attempt to make little of what my views were! What should I expect from you next, maybe tossing out different races at me too?
