What is the name of your state? vt...Can someone give me a good visitation schedule that would be fair for both parents? I am doing a new agreement and would appreciate how to schedule summer visits and holidays especially since there is 50 miles between both parents. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Halloween, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthday of child are the most important. Thanks Faith

faith- you need to file to stop the move.

It's really not possible for anyone but you (and the father) to come up with a "fair" schedule. What was fair for me and my ex wouldn't necessarily be fair for your situation. For instance, alternating Christmas sounds fair--but what if one parent doesn't celebrate Christmas? Easter is important to some, but what about Jewish parents? For summer visitation, do you normally travel for vacation? Does he? Are there grandparents to consider? Something like this isn't a "one size fits all" problem.

And I agree that you're getting ahead of yourself. What is the most important issue happening right now? Take care of that first without being distracted by secondary issues. Then move on to the next one.

I get the impression that you're very disorganized, intellectually and emotionally. Have a cup of tea, take a deep breath, and focus. You're all over the place, and you're going to drive yourself nuts.

I agree. File first then hope you can settle out of court. If you try to work out an agreement now then you may lose the opportunity to stop the move.
