Hi,
I have a question concerning my sons court orders. He has the standard EOW but it also states that he gets 2 hours on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00. However, it sounds like it is talking about school age children as it refers to school times. Since the child is only 2 years old how does this apply? Under "definitions" it says that the term "school" is referring to any primary or secondary school in which the child is enrolled. If the child is not enrolled in a primary or secondary school then it refers to the public school district in which the child primarily resides. He is in daycare. Does this mean my son gets the child according to the public school district schedule or that he doesn't get him at all on Thursdays until he is school age? This has already been discussed with the mother and she doesn't think my son can get him on Thursday evenings. Thanks for your help.

Mom is full of it....he gets his thursday evenings whether the child is in school or not.

Exactly. And the decree deals with school age times because that's part of a standard order. Kiddo will be in school someday.....Mom can kick rocks if she doesn't like it.

That's kind of what I figured but I thought I would get advice from the pro's before I brought it up again. She can call her lawyer and pay him for an answer because she won't believe me. She doesn't know about this board. I have learned so much here the last year or so. Thanks so much for your answers.

Why not simply pass the info along to your son and have HIM deal with it? If I were Mom, I'd tell you to pound sand if you brought it up with me. It is simply NOT your place!

Why not direct her here? This way she can learn as well and perhaps it will result in all of you having less legal issues down the road. The little man is only 2 yo...and already there is nonsense that HOPEFULLY he isn't tuned into...

OP should be having no legal issues with Mom - now or in the future.
