i have a court date for child support coming up soon. what i was wondering is if there is a way i can get them to take it directly out of my checking account instead of going threw my work. cos i really do not want to bother my employer with the paperwork.

not likely, unless you can convince the judge NOT to garnish your income. Which MAY be possible depending on your court history. (If you are there for lack of support-prepare to be garnished)

If it is possible to pay your ex directly, ONLY pay her by check, and keep excellent records of those checks.

Your employer should be able to handle the paperwork. I am sure you wouldn't be the first they have to do garnishment paperwork.
