Hi,

What would happen if the beneficiary of a life insurance policy were in the witness protection program? Would a representative (ex. attorney) be put in charge of handling their affairs? What about if this beneficiary is named in a will? Appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks.

Best,

Jason

The person in the WPP would have access to Federal attorneys. No problem.

Would he

Be allowed to stay in contact with his former lawyer if he trusts him and safety precautions are taken?

Maybe the beneficiary has a trusted friend or relative whom the beneficiary could grant power of attorney to in order to have the friend/relative cash the check (issued by the insurance company) on the beneficiary's behalf OR get the money deposited in the friend/relative's bank account by direct deposit and then the friend/relative pays the beneficiary in cash, all done with a signed agreement/contract between the two parties.

Thanks for providing such an interesting, distinctively unusual dilemma! Are you sure this wasn't a homework question? Or is it truly a real-life situation?
