What is the name of your state? Georgia

Can anyone recommend a qualified lawyer that would best be able to represent
a close family friend. Her infant child was permantely scarred and burned during brain surgery and she was wondering what options she has. A lawyer that would be able to be retained "pro bono' until the case were settled in a court of law. She lives in the Savannah area and is a young single mother. If anyone knows of such please advise.

I thank you in advance,

Depending upon the complexity of the surgery, the possibility of scarring and burns are considered known risks. They were probably spelled out on the informed consent Mom signed before surgery.

How long ago was the surgery and where is the location of the scarring? Is it at the surgical site or elsewhere on the body?

Hope the little one is doing well.

lealea,
Thank you for you help as well thank you perroloco( i will search this momentarily).

In answer to your question according to my conversation with her yesterday the doctor who performed the surgery wanted "to correct his mistake" She obviously is not letting him. The surgery is most recent approx 6 -10 months ago. Poor baby is 1.5 yrs old!!
She is in process of obtaining his medical records. The surgery consisted of opening his skull as he had a birth defect internal. The scarring that i speak of is on his top part of the forehead(visible on him) approx 3-5 " in length that protrudes outward.
I will have her look over her consent form as well i can look it over for her to see what risks are spelled out.
Should she just call lawyers and ask if they will take the case if one exists?

thank you again!

It certainly wouldn't hurt to get the free initial consultation. Hopefully you can get an idea whether or not to pursue it.

Good Luck, I hope it works out for your friend and her baby.
