What is the name of your state? PA

i have taken a parent plus loan out 6 yrs ago so my kid could go to college. well i have found in PA code that if this being the case and my child passes; they are to eliminate the loan and I will no longer be responsible. when mentioned to sallie mae they indicated that is not true and I quoted PA code to them. they did not know what to say at that point. does anyone have any advice? my child is dying of cancer and need to be prepared when the time comes.

You will need to speak to your actual lender or the state agency that administers the loans. In PA, the agency is PHEAA. Here's their link:

According to the code, you will not be released from the debt until after your son passes, as you will have to provide the proper documentation to your lender.

I'm so sorry about your son.
