So suppose I had an idea that would be great for cell phone service. I know I can't just copyright the idea, but is there anyway to protect the idea when speaking with an executive. Maybe some type of contract or something that i could do. I would like to get paid. I would hate to say, I have this idea, talk to someone, then all cellphone companies are doing it. Maybe I could join the company as an independent contractor/consultant....??? perhaps the service already exists but I havent heard of it and I think it would be very helpful. Anyways...just wondering....cause I know these types of things have occured before. Is there an avenue for protection with service-based creations? Thanks

Just for the record. I'm no idiot...I have a college degree in business. Just not sure if there is a common approach to things like this. Perhaps I'll look into the consultation angle.
