What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Hawaii
I moved into my apartment in November 2007. A portion of the driveway on my parking space and a portion of the road were collapsed. Before I moved in, my landlord had the driveway fixed. The problem is that the portion of the road at the end of my driveway is collapsed which causes my car to "bottom out" and scrape on my driveway almost every single time I go on/off my driveway. I just had to take my car in last week because this issue caused a portion of my muffler to snap off.
After talking with neighbors, I found out that it was collapsed because the garbage truck kept parking on that portion of my driveway when they would pick up the trash. I've watched the truck numerous times and they STILL park on that portion of my driveway every single time they come and pick up trash. I have no idea why they keep doing this because there is no need to be on my driveway, as the cans are on the side of the road.
I'm assuming this is the city's problem because it's the road that's collapsed now and not my driveway. I sent an email to the city and also filled out a pot hole request form. Is there anything else I can do to get this issue fixed? I can't keep doing this to my car because I will definitely keep having this problem in the future.
Thanks in advance!
