What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

I need to defer my August payment on my car because of moving expenses I will be needing. My question is should I use "moving expenses" as my reason which is the truth or is there another reason that I should use that should gaurantee the defferment request will get approved? I have deferred once sometime last year to catch up on bills but other than that I've never been late on payments.

I'm not sure if this is the approriate forum to ask this question but I don't know who else to turn to for advice.

There is no law requiring the lender to allow you to "defer" a payment. Whether you lie to the lender or not is a moral choice.
