What to do when stepmom hits child

AND AGAIN DAD TOLD ME HE DOESNT WANT MY HUBBY HITTING OUR CHILD...NOW HE'S NOT WITH ME ANYMORE, SO WHY IS IT OKSY FOR HIM TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO IN MY HOUSE YET, I'M WRONG WHEN I DO THE SAME.....THAT MAKES US BOTH WRONG , NOT JUST ME

What does Dad telling you (the correct terminology would be that he "requested") that your DH can't hit the child have to do with that you need to go to court to ask for a modification to request NO THIRD PARTIES CAN USE CORPORAL PUNISHMENT???

I just have one question, what can I do as far as court is concerned when my child's has stepmother use physical disciple and dad allows it?

And, frankly, after reading to about pg 4 of this thread then skipping to the end, I think you've got some issues b/c the stepmom TOLD you about this isolated incident.

Did you ever answer the question what the child did to warrant the physical discipline? Have you described what that physical discipline is yet?

BTW, you've been so incredibly rude to seniors in this thread. My jaw was literally open wondering if you have a death wish or something ....

What is ridiculous is running to court when you two cannot agree on something.

I don't believe in corporal punishment. But, if my X believed in it and gave PERMISSION to the wife to do so in his stead, I have choices:
* I speak to dad about why I don't agree (and save lots of money)
* Run to court and waste money over something that I should have tried to solve FIRST by COMMUNICATING.
* Realize that I am NOT with that person anymore, therefore, I cannot control them. Therefore, I cannot control their behaviour over LEGAL things, like spanking.

Can we just end this thread on this note? What more needs to be said??

So, what type of "hitting" occurred? Did she pop your child on the hand? Completely appropriate.

When my children were a year old and kept touching things they weren't supposed to touch, they'd get their hand popped.

I promise, no life-long damage has occurred.

She swatted at your child and said, "No, no." Something along those lines.

You're "upgrading" it to a "hit" If she hadn’t of told you, you never would have even known.

There are times when a butt that is spanked while protected by inch thick diapers will get that child's attention.

Yer just mad cuz dad said something to you and you don't think dad is playing fair.

Man I wish I could be a fly on the wall in this courtroom. OP, if this is all you got, be prepared... the judge is going to call you an idiot! Our court systems are overloaded with real issues and you are going to waste their time on this!!!
