What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana
I have been enrolled in a college since July of 2007. It is a 15 month program after which I will recieve my LPN diploma. When I enrolled I signed a contract to make monthly payments up till 6 months after graduating (March 2009) for the cost that was left after financial aide. The president of the college has decided that he does not want to keep this contract and now wants students to pay in full upon graduating before they will allow our paper work to be sent to the board for testing. This is not the first problem that has arrised from my school nor am I the only one that this applies to. What can I do other than suck it up and pay or hire a lawyer that will cost more than what I owe?

Is the College accredited? Did you SIGN a contract?

Let them sue you. You don't have a downside except for court costs.
Especially if you believe you have a contract (verbal or whatever) which gives you the right to pay up to 6 months after graduation, what are they going to do?

If they do something which causes you damages, then *you* may be the one suing.

**A: you're basically stuck. Pay up.
