Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am getting a much needed 5 day weekend, and I don't intend to go anywhere NEAR a mall, Wallmart, Target or any other such animal!

I do my Christmas shopping the week before Christmas...LOL.

I think it's more fun to sit in my house warm and safe from the hordes of shoppers beating each other up over the deals! I usually don't even get out of my PJ's that day. I was very stupid today and agreed to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday......and let my DH off of the hook for work.

LOL I usually wait until the week before Christmas, too. Unless it's something where I work.

I'm off tomorrow and Sunday, but work Friday & Saturday. The big break I get is not having to work Midnight Madness.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on the forum. This is my first holiday without the kids so it's kind of weird but we're doing dinner at my mom's anyways. Kids are going to their dad's at 1 in the afternoon, and then on to their stepmom's family function around 5 or 6. They will be home this evening at 8, so I will be able to get them cozy in their pjs and read them tehir Bible stories before bed tonight. :) I think this is the longest visit they have had with their dad yet! (it's raining and they are driving a bit far so I am kind of nervous.)

Anyways, have a great Thanksgiving everyone! If you have a chance to check this thread and you are a person who prays, please join me in praying safe passage for my kids today (California drivers are crazy in the rain!!!) :p

Thanks so much for all of the help you have given me. If it weren't for all the advice I got on here I would probably be sitting here half the holiday thinking about how unfair it was that he got the kids and HE didn't deserve it and blah blah blah blah lol. Instead i'm going to go hang out and watch movies with my mom and sis and have some turkey and gravy. :)

Cheater!!!!! Hey, I started shopping Labor Day. It's time for me to empty these closets that I've been storing things in and start wrapping. The Christmas Tree lots are stocked and ready for me to pick tomorrow night!!!!
Unless it's something where I work.
Do we get a "we kinda sorta know Stealth" discount?????:D

Oh come on! Everyone should get up before the crack of dawn and take the children to the store for the mad rush! Its fun that way!

Last year, I broke my own rule and found myself at the mall at the crack of dawn on Christmas Eve.

It was like the mall of the damned. Nothing but lost men trying to find the perfect gift for the woman that gave birth to their children.

Starbucks, Victoria's Secret and the gift card kiosk were full.... The mall jewelers were actually salivating.

I was done with my final purchases and out by 10. I think I saw a fist fight break out over my spot.

The key is to start a gift closet and begin shopping for Christmas on December 26th. That way there are no fist fights. If not for begging I wouldnt' be getting up in less than 11 hours to go shop.
