Ebay item not recieved

Hi,all im new here,and just want to get a bit of advice.
I bought an item off ebay back in July for £160,i paid by cheque,i never recieved the item,now i know ive left it a while,but ive been ill and had more to worry about.

The seller is not replying to emails,or phone calls,so im thinking of starting a small claim,trouble is,its been 5 months,anyone know how long after the sale,i can make a claim?

You have managed to let the eBay period of assistance lapse. That should have been your first move. Your second move should have been disputing the payment with PayPal. You have allowed all this time to pass and now you are SOL.

I understand that and the fact that OP is not in the US; however, I wanted to let a future searcher (if anyone actually searches this site before posting) what they need to do in trying to resolve an eBay dispute (which is not with eBay [a venue] but with the seller of said item).
