What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? tx

I have a question.....I was vandalized and 22 panes were shot out by a BB gun.
I was told by my insurance company to call glass companies and get replacement glass.
My problem is....my house was built in the 1890's and some of my windows are 4ftX8ft.
I want them to be fully replaced...the casings are in bad shape, and the glass company wants to put glass that is 1/8 inch thick.....which I am afraid will break during a loud scream! Do I have a right to insist the insurance company to replace the windows??

2 problems. Your insurance company is not responsible for your casings being in bad shape. If you selected a functional replacement cost as a way to save money, which many people do when their home was built prior to 1930, then the insurance company is not responsible for returning your house to its 1930 condition. If you didn't purchase the proper amount of replacement cost coverage, you also won't get a lot of help from your insurance company.

Come back and tell me if you have a functional replacement cost policy, the amount of your coverage A, and the square footage of your home.
