Is it legal for a manufacturer to deny its customers repair parts without paying for a service technichan to accopmany and install the required part.

A: Yes, because there is no law requiring it.

So if i buy a car and the altnator goes bad and say GM wont sell me the part without there tech installing it at what ever rate they charge that is legal

Something like that. You can, of course, by the part elsewhere.

However, a situation relating to a piece of machinery is NOT the same as the situation relating to an automobile.

Yes.

That is not a monopoly.

You can get GM compatible alternators practically anywhere.

I have bought a machine in exsesive of 100,000.00 and the manufaturer tells me I cannot buy the part to fix my machine from them unless I buy there service to go with it. I already have a service company that can install the part at a much cheaper rate, but the manufacturer wont sell me the part. At this point I think I can install the part myself. This is my machine at this point.

There must be some law to protect consumers. I am willing to pay for the part I just dont want to pay for there service. No service no part thats what I am told.
