What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

i have a problem with a school bus stopping to pick up children at the end of my driveway, there is a 10 1/2 foot wide farm lane that my property crosses, according to my deed, and this is where the children stand for the bus. the actual school registered bus stop is on a privately owned lane adjacent to my property. so the bus is stopping illegally at my driveway. Last week a child fell on the ice on my driveway. what is my liability if a child falls and gets hurt? also, the children run through my yard and play tag..again if they get hurt am i liable? most of the time i am not home when the bus comes in the morning and the afternoon.. when i contacted my homeowners about the child falling, they told me that if i would be sued, they would counter sue the school district as the bus is stopping illegally.. any ideas? thanks so much!!

What did the district say when you contacted them in writing?
What did the busing company say when you contacted them in writing?

Very good questions. I would have gone out and asked the bus driver who gave the permission to change the route and stop.

Hi, I would contact the school district's transportation department and ask to speak to the head of the department. Explain that they do not have permission to stop there and that they are trespassing. Also express your concern about your liability and state unequivocally that they do not have permission to stop there.

If you leave a message and your call is not returned within an hour, call back. Keep this up until you speak with the appropriate person. If THIS does not resolve the situation, you may need to call the police and/or send your complaint in writing.

I'm confused. Why does the school need permission to stop In front of your driveway provided they are on a public right of way?

Anyhow if they've designated the stop elsewhere the school system may not be aware of the driver stopping in the wrong place.
