URGENT - no help rec'd from anywhere yet!!

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

After Hurr Ivan (2004), on the advise of a friend & after much frustration trying to get my insurance company to listen to me, I hired an adjuster. Turns out, according to an attorney who won't take the case because it wouldn't be worth his while, everything this company has done is fraudulent. The contract was bogus, they changed the contract & I didn't sign the new one, bogus charges, they kept money meant to pay my additional living expenses, etc... When my home was 80% finished, they refused to endorse the check to pay my contractor unless I endorsed it over to them. My contractor has not been paid; my home is still not finished!! I filed complaint with insurance commisioner early on - NO HELP!! I have talked with various government officials, all the way up to the Governor's Assistant - NO HELP!! Everyone just says 'hang in there - someone will help'!! What do I do to resolve this situation? PLEASE - no snide comments.

I don't need more harrassment - I need to know who can help!! My mortgage company has the money meant to pay my contractor and finish my half-finished house. They cannot release it to me without the adjuster's name on the check. When they released it, the adjuster wanted me to hand it over to him - he has already STOLEN more than I would have owed him IF the contract had been legit. The mortgage company needs statement from 'someone' that the check can come straight to me - who does this need to come from?
