State of Texas, HOUSTON
I am a salesman for a construction company. The company I work for rented an apartment for my family and myself. The rent is to be deducted from my sales commissions. They also have rented 2 garages at the same place for my use.
The company found out that some other salesmen have been building jobs on the side from company supplied leads. The owner of the company told me that when he returns in 2 weeks from an overseas trip he will be terminating these men and throwing them out of the Apartment that he is also renting for them.
It makes me nervous knowing that if he decided to terminate myself, that he would be able to do the same thing, meaning throw my family and I out in the street without notice. I understand that the lease is in his name, but I am in possession of the apartment. We have moved our entire household here until we decide where in Houston we wish to settle. I don't build jobs on the side or anything else that should cause this kind of action, but i feel it is necessary to know what to do just in case, for my family's sake
The bills, except for cable, are in his name. I receive my mail here but other than that I have nothing to prove that I live her. Can someone here clear this up for me? Is some kind of notice to vacate required or can he just walk in as he wants and force us out? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
