What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona

My husband has a daughter with his ex girlfriend whom he has never even seen or met and he wants to give up his paternal rights. His ex has always told him she doesn't want him around and because of his resentment for the childs mother he does not want anything to do with either of them. If he does give up his peternal rights does he have to continue to pay child support? Does his ex have to give the ok for him to even begin to try to give up his rights as the childs father? Also, we have a child of our own (he is 10 months old) and the amount he has to pay for child support is ridiculous how would we go about having the whole case reviewed and have to amount changed? What would be the best solution to this situation?

No. Your husband can't terminate his parental rights in order to not support the child he made. He is not obligated to have a relationship with the child, but he is LEGALLY obligated to financially support the child.

If you husband would like to know if he can have a modification of support have him sign up, under his own name, and we will advise him directly. This is his legal issue and it is inappropriate for you to involve yourself in this matter.
