School Confiscated Phone until End of Year!?

Is there a law prohibiting an organization such as a school from keeping a personal item of an individual who did not agree in any way, what so ever, to their terms?

If your father reported to the police that you stole his cell phone, and you were successfully prosecuted and sent to juvie, then I'm sure the school would release his stolen property back to him. Otherwise, the school is likely to just tell your father that he should be more careful who he lends his cell phone to.

And NO, I am not going to wait until 45 minutes after the bell to use the school phone, as is their policy.

Actually, I can think of a way that this would be possible, and I'm sure a lawyer could as well.

Maybe you'll APPRECIATE advice more if you're paying for it, rather than feeling entitled to it.

No. YOU knew the school's rules when you took the cell phone with you. YOU knew that if you were caught with it that the phone would be confiscated. YOU can get Dad's phone back at the end of the year.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. A 3.5 GPA is NOT stellar. It really isn't even vaguely impressive. Not in the age of Honors and AP classes. What that 3.5 tells me is OP is either doing okay in his run-of-the-mill A-Level classes, or he's doing poorly in his Honors/AP classes.

As for OP's question... like I tell my own teens - lose the attitude if you expect something from me.
