What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MI

Just for my own peace of mind...If something were to happen to me, my husband would automatically get our kids and all of my life insurance benefits, etc...correct? Also (if anybody knows) does he become responsible for my grad school loans and do I need to take out extra insurance to cover those, just in case?

Thanks!

Is your husband the beneficiary of life insurance? Is your husband the father of the kids?

If your loans are federal student loans, then they can be discharged upon the student's death. Yeah, it is a little morbid, but smart to think ahead. I hope this isn't a problem for you for a long, long time!

I'm assuming he is the beneficiary...it's through his work, and it was basically just an add-on benefit. I guess I'll have to double check the specifics (I figured it would just default to him if it wasn't specified otherwise)

Yes, we have one baby together, and one on the way...both definitely his :D

Yes, they are federal student loans (with the exception of a few small supplemental ones that are almost paid off). I hope it's not a problem either...just got a little scare and it sent me into a panic about the whole thing
