Yes, there is a filing fee. It varies from state to state and I think even from county to county sometimes. Call the Clerk of Court on Tuesday and ask what the filing fee would be...unless OG happens along and knows.

Jeez. Usually I am just accused of being harsh and rude. Not being helpful. So thanks for the compliment.

It will cost money to modify. It depends on how the court classifies your motion -- most likely post decree. Go to drcourt.org and click on the link for filing fees. Most likely this would be approximately $155.00 -- though it could be as much as $180.00. You can pay by credit card -- add a 3% upcharge to that payment -- or cash or money order. The clerk of courts normally only take checks from attorneys.

You can quit hopping now. You must be tired.

And you say CA's filing fees are high... it's only $40 to file a motion here... :D

I couldn't hop now if I tried -- the shot to the kidneys I took sorta did me in for a while. Then i growled at the perpetrator who is now sleeping it off. And I am now sitting typing on here. Go figure.
