What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX

Can a mother sign off her daughters rights just because she wants to?

currently the father has temporary custody

Please read juan's posting history. His son was living with GGP and he refused to clean the house as it was NOT his responsibility to make sure that his child was living in a clean environment.

A few tidbits re this poster courtesy of his PRIOR posts:
The truth is that when the great grandma was alive he was very well taken care of. I would still him consistently every weekend etc. But the ggg could not be without him she would start complaining that her chest would hurt etc, etc. So i could not spend time with him for an extended period of time.

If I would of fought for my son and got custody and the ggrandma would of got sick or possibly died i could not have lived with that and my son would probably hate me.

I got a notarized letter from the ggp last night (stating facts about the situation) and my son is worried that when the mom finds out she is going to really take out on the ggp. She is very capable of kicking him out. I told my son that his ggp wants what is best for him and the we would do everything we could to take care of ggp.
and this gem:
Last night my son had a baseball game and this morning they had to take team pictures. So my wife takes him to the game after the game she goes to his house which is where my son and his great granpa live to wash his uniform for this morning. One of his teammates moms was going to take him to take the pictures. My wife walks in and she sees ****roachs all over the house. She came home in tears telling me that the house is filthy. Since my sons great grandma past the house does not really get cleaned or upkept. The last time i was there i saw several rats in the house also. Should i call the cops or cps.
or neither and wait to talk to the lawyer
he didn't like being told he should help clean or be a father.

I don't know why people carry on AFTER the fact about qualities one or the other parent has always had. The way one parent gets a co-parent who is clean, independent, responsible, and willing to clean, cook or whatever is by PICKING someone who has those qualities to have a child with.

Also note the gender of the child is different. So either he just can't pick good or he is making it up as he goes along.

hi everyone especially OHIOGAL

the gender is a boy

I did not know if this was the correct forum have not been here in a while and i did not want the wrong person to read this

my son has been with me since last may i have temporary custody going back to court for the final hearing very soon

we had to do a home study
the mother did not do hers
the mother has dropped hints that she is just going to sign off her rights whatever that means

my son still goes to see his ggg for a few hours on the weekends

the mother has picked him up on three different occasions in the last year for a few hours

but more importantly my son has adjusted well in his new environment we had a rough start but it has been a lot better

Well then mom can't sign away her daughter's rights. And no you cannot make her sign away the rights to her son either. And lying is a major strike against you.

You are posting on a public board. ANYONE can read it. Anyone can search this board and find all of your posts. ANYONE in the world possibly can see it.

It means nothing because she cannot do so without your wife immediately willing and ABLE to adopt.

And? Transitional problems are normal. Now aren't you glad you decided to single me out?
